SEEKING FEEDBACK: DRAFT INDUSTRY CODE OF PRACTICE

LPA has released a draft industry Code of Practice for member and broader industry consultation.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE DRAFT CODE?

The draft Code has been prepared to support the prevention of workplace discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment and bullying in the live performance industry. It affirms our industry’s commitment to providing safe, respectful, inclusive and flexible workplaces.

The draft Code provides:

  • Part A: A guide for an employers including an overview of the relevant legislative framework and obligations, as well as best practice guidance on steps you can take to effectively prevent and respond to discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment and bullying in the workplace
     
  • Part B: Templates and resources to assist you to develop new policies and procedures:
  1. Workplace discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment and bullying policy
  2. Complaint handling and investigation procedure
  3. Complaint form
  4. Code of conduct: workplace discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment and bullying
  5. Check-lists to assess your current policies and procedures

TELL US WHAT YOU THINK

LPA is seeking industry feedback on the draft Code. Below are some questions which may help guide your response and assist LPA in revising the Code:

  1. Do you have any suggestions or examples that could be included in the Code to make it more relevant for the live performance industry?
  2. Are there any other templates, checklists or resources that would be helpful for your organisation?
  3. Are there any areas that you feel need further information/clarification?
  4. Do you feel employees at your organisation need education and training on specific areas? If so, which areas?

HOW TO PROVIDE FEEDBACK

  • Review the draft Code and provide feedback by COB Monday 26 March.
  • Circulate the draft Code to key relevant people in your company/organisation for review (e.g. HR, CEO, relevant senior managers, Board members)
