It is with great sadness that we inform LPA Members of the unexpected passing of Tim Roberts over the weekend. Tim was an esteemed colleague and Chair of NARPACA's Ticketing Professionals Conference Committee.
Tim spent over twenty years working for ARTS Australia and providing inspirational leadership across ticketing, CRM and arts marketing in Australia, New Zealand, USA, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, South Africa, Turkey, Spain, Chile and the United Kingdom.
He worked specifically on best practice in leisure ticketing, membership, fundraising and arts marketing - specialising in CRM and audience development and analysis.
He was a highly regarded and regularly sought after consultant due to his extraordinary knowledge of a broad range of ticketing, CRM, membership, fund-raising and database software, in particular the implementation in the online environment, as well as his strong theoretical foundation in marketing combined with a thorough practical grounding in Information Technology and Telecommunications.
Tim commenced his career in theatres across Perth and London and lectured at Edith Cowan University and West Australian Academy of the Performing Arts (WAAPA). Tim also undertook residencies at both WAAPA and LASALLE-SIA College of the Arts in Singapore, and presented the Relationship Marketing module for the Australian Institute of Music Sydney Opera House Master of Arts Management degree since 2007.
Tim will be dearly remembered by his many friends and colleagues for his commitment to his work, and for his wonderful collegial spirit.
