Virgin Australia has announced a new baggage allowance for inividual artists in our industry. When booking flights for artists, all LPA Members are now eligible to access a generous 64kg of checked baggage totaling 4 pieces of baggage (increased from 32kg across three pieces), when travelling domestically within Australia. The new Baggage Allowance can be accessed from 12 September 2016 and further details can be found here.
HOW TO BOOK
Once you have booked a domestic flight with Virgin Australia, note your booking reference number.
Virgin Australia encourages eligible members to book flights via their current travel provider or travel agent. For members who do not have a regular travel provider, we encourage you to book with a music industry or travel agency specialist including:
- Show Group – www.showgroup.com.au
- Stage and Screen – www.stageandscreen.travel
- Travel Beyond – www.travelbeyond.com.au
- The Appointment Group - www.appointmentgroup.com
In the event that booking via one of the above agencies is not an option, bookings can be made via our website www.virginaustralia.com.
The Virgin Australia Baggage Deal was originally introduced in 2011. LPA in conjunction with a number of other Australian Music Industry bodies, reached an arrangement with Virgin Australia to alleviate the costs borne by touring artists and companies. The new Baggage Deal provides a valued benefit to LPA Members, and we are pleased that Virgin Australia continues to support our music industry and the live performance industry more broadly.
Should you have any queries in regard to the Virgin Australia Baggage Deal, please do not hesitate to contact the LPA Policy Team via email or call (03) 8614 2000.
