Live Performance Australia, the peak body for the Australian live arts and entertainment industry, welcomes the appointment of the Chair and members of the new Creative Workplaces Council.
‘We look forward to working with Chair, Kate Jenkins AO, and members of the Council in enabling safe and respectful workplaces in our cultural and creative industries,’ said Evelyn Richardson, LPA Chief Executive.
The establishment of the Creative Workplaces Council is one of the key initiatives of the Albanese Government’s national cultural policy, Revive.
‘LPA has taken an industry leadership role in the development of guidelines and training for the live performance industry, including the introduction in 2018 of the Australian Live Performance Industry Code of Practice to Prevent Workplace Discrimination, Harassment, Sexual Harassment and Bullying which is mandatory for LPA’s approximately 400 industry members.
‘We look forward to working with the Creative Workplaces Council on future initiatives to further raise standards and build industry capability and best practice in providing safe and respectful workplaces for those working in our live arts and entertainment industry,’ Ms Richardson said.
