Welcome to our Hall of Fame, which is our way of paying tribute to many of the remarkable artists and practitioners who have added significantly to Australia’s rich performing arts history.
You’ll encounter actors and directors, playwrights and designers, singers and instrumentalists, comedians and dancers, circus performers and puppeteers, theatre architects and entrepreneurs, and even a critic or two. Some you’ll know, others not. But they’re all great people with great stories and we know you’ll enjoy meeting them.
Our initial Hall of Fame inductees were chosen by an expert committee who came up with a list of eighty nominees. To this list we’ve added the winners of the JC Williamson Award and the Sue Nattrass Award, which are presented annually to recognise living individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the performing arts in Australia.
With over 120 entries meticulously researched by performing arts historian Frank Van Straten AM, our Hall of Fame gives a fascinating insight into the lives and careers of our industry’s trailblazers and our country’s brightest stars.
