Live Performance Australia (LPA) is the peak body for the Live Performance industry
Founded in 1917, the organisation has been servicing the needs of the industry for almost 100 years and is today registered as an Employers’ Organisation under the Fair Work (Registered Organisation) Act 2009.
We have a broad membership base that covers theatre, musicals, opera, dance, festivals, contemporary and classical music, comedy and variety, circus and physical theatre, special events, live performance colleges, multi-purpose venues, casinos, orchestras, ticketing, exhibition, crewing, sound and lighting, service supply and contracting – in fact, anything and everything concerned with putting on a show!
Our Australia-wide membership includes hundreds of commercial and subsidised organisations.
The LPA Executive Council is drawn from representatives of our membership, elected every two years.
Operating across a dynamic single national structure, the Council is nationally representative as well as covering the wide range of member activities.
LPA offers practical information to help production companies, tours, venues and events become more energy efficient.
LPA provides Members with support in regards to the preparation of applications for the Subclass 408 Temporary Activity Visa to import overseas artists and associated personnel into Australia.
